Description:
Simply Spectacular!! This large 800 Silver & Highlander Horn Scottish Shooting Trophy is topped by a finely detailed figural Stag. It measures 24.5" from end to end & is 17" high. It is fully marked. The Horn Pokal is of course removable for the toasting of the winner. The inscription starts on one side & continues on the other. It reads: " Cup presented by H.Schmarson, member of the Nyasaland Volunteerreserve to the member, obtaining the highest Netscore over following ranges: 200 yards standing, 200 yards prone and 500 and 600 yards prone to be shot for by Fremba, Blantyre Chiromo and Fort Johnston Corps". The base tells us: "Won by E.P. Roe, Blantyre Corps 1908". The trophy is in excellent condition. The only minor flaw is that bits of the resin that weighs it down have been broken away over the years. This does destabilize it, it will not tip. Displays beautifully. Could use a professional polish if so desired. More photos available.
