Description: This lamp was made in 1940 during World War II by a student in the Maine Merchant Marine Academy, who later worked for a tug company as an officer that handled intercoastal petroleum barages. The base, the pulleys and the sheaves came from old ships. This ship lamp is sturdy, well-made, well-loved, and it WORKS. Great for a study or den or a boys' room. Give it some thought - you won't be sorry.
