Description:
This is a razor blade conditioning machine, used for removing any cutting edge imperfection from a new or used razor blade. The included pamphlet calls this hand crank mechanical machine a "STROMPPER". There is also further instructions inside the bottom of the box, explain how to load the blade and use the strompper. The pamphlet as mention another company "RHODES MANUFACTURING CO 1418 PENDLETON AVENUE ST. LOUIS MISSOURI". The strompper is marked on the front "KRISS KROSS TRADE MARK" and on the back of the same is marked "KRISS KROSS CORP. MADE IN U.S.A. ST. LOUIS MO.". The machine has a round leather disk that is used to perfect the blades, by cranking the handle on the top, the mechanism flips the blade, from one side of the blade to the other, causing the cutting edge of the blade to rub against the leather. The instruction call for shaving cream to be used to condition the leather and keep it clean by wiping the leather off also. The strompper is in very nice shape, nice finish, tension adjustment and all the mechanical feature work fine, the handle flip down for storage. The strompper is 4.37" diameter. The box is solid, a few clear taped corners, and a small hole noted on the top of the box, but otherwise clean with a legible label. A nice early mechanical gadget!
