Description: Offering this nice old 1910's era axe / hatchet / hammer, in very nice condition. The head is sharp and ready to use, no rust or damage, some wear on the outside edges of the cutting edge. The hammer section is 8 sides, and has been swedged over slightly from use, no bad at all. The head measures 9.8" x 4.0" across the cutting edge. The handle is older, has some wear, one notch burn into it, with a nice smooth finish, fits the head good. The handle is plenty strong and is 18.5" long overall. The head is marked "K... AXE & TOOL CO." on the cast steel head. Believed to be King Axe and Tool Co. in business in Oakland Maine U.S.A. from about 1907-1917. Very nice quality cast steel, nice sharp edge.
