Description: All of the sheet music we sell is always ALL ORIGINAL and never reproduced or photocopied! Offered here is a vintage antique 19th century Black Americana music sheet; "My Old Kentucky Home Good Night" Foster's Plantation Melodies No. 20 [Tenth Edition], As Sung by Christy's Minstrels, written and composed by Stephen C. Foster, Published by Firth, Pond & Co., 1853. From a previously bound volume - thus tiny chips along the spine - old paper clip stain on spine. Sorry the photo is slightly blurry. 1. The sun shines bright in the old Kentucky home, 'Tis summer, the darkies are gay, The corn top's ripe and the meadows in the bloom, While the birds make music all the day. The young folks roll on the little cabin floor, All merry, all happy and bright: By'n by Hard Times comes a knocking at the door, Then my old Kentucky Home, good night! CHORUS Weep no more, my lady, Oh! weep no more to-day! We will sing one song for the old Kentucky Home, For the old Kentucky Home far away. 2. They hunt no more for possum and the coon On the meadow, the hill, and the shore, They sing no more by the glimmer of the moon, On the bench by the old cabin door. The day goes by like a shadow o're the heart, With sorrow where all was delight: The time has come when the darkies have to part, Then my old Kentucky Home, good-night! (CHORUS) 3. The head must bow and the back will have to bend, Wherever the darkey may go: A few more days, and the trouble all will end In the field where the sugar-canes grow. A few more days for to tote the weary load, No matter, 'twill never be light, A few more days till we totter on the road, Then my old Kentucky Home, good-night! (CHORUS)

Shipping Procedures

I pride myself on quick shipping.  I usually ship on Mondays and on Fridays except on holidays. Once a package is in the Postal Service hands, I loose control over it. Generally for US shipments you can expect delivery within 3 or 4 business days (or 3-9 for media rate). For non-US shipments, once the package leaves the US, even the USPS looses control over it. I can not predict transit times for these packages. They quite often are held up in customs in the receiving country. Please be patient.

All payments from countries other than the U.S.A. must be made via paypal or an International Money Order in US Funds, ONLY - no exceptions.

Sign up for PayPal; the fast, easy, and secure way to pay online.
