OIL PAINTING ON CANVAS, ORIGINAL FRAME - 'ON THE LLUGUY- NORTH WALES.
This wonderful oil on canvas was painted by Julius Godet ca1880 and depicts a scene in North Wales on the River Lluguy. It is in good condition, untouched by the restorers hand, lightly crazed in one or two places. We have been brutally honest in our images, as the crackalture is not as accented as shown. A title panel on the original frame is incorrectly spelled as 'Godel'.
The painting is signed on the left hand corner of the canvas and has written on the reverse of the canvas the title; 'On the Lluguy - North Wales’. Godet is a listed English artist whose work is very much sought after. The title of that painting was 'The Lledr Valley - North Wales' and same size and genre, obviously from a collection that he painted in the area at the time.
