Description: This beer stein is quite interesting - it was made by Marzi and Remy in an effort to imitate Reinhold Merkelbach's famous Jugendstil wares with it's unique brown glaze called "braun gefflamt". Marzi and Remy produced very small number of Jugendstil beer steins like this. This particular design belongs to Paul Wynand - one of the most important Jugendstil designers specializing in ceramics and beer steins in particular. It is mostly known in grey stoneware with blue dots. This version - brown glaze with black dots is much more rare. The stein is in excellent condition. It is 5.5" tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity.
