Description: "Thomondgate" Signed Jno. Emms 190222"H X 27" W. Oil on board. In very good order. This very well known painter of horses & dogs, whose work has sold to £155,000, was born at Blofield in Norfolk and worked as assistant to Frederick Lord Leighton & afterwards settled at Lyndhurst.This portrait shows a very well made chestnut racehorse in a stable with a monogrammed Witney blanket on the ground. He has the loveliest head & neck you ever saw.
