Description: This is a charming sterling silver condiment set by the renowned Danish silversmith Georg Jensen that includes a covered mustard pot with spoon, an open salt dish with spoon, and a pepper shaker. The mustard pot is a circular, bellied form with two-handles that bifurcate and curl under forming ball supports, the handles are delicately shaped in an organic profile. The mustard pot is covered with a plain, circular lid that curves upward to support a ball-shaped finial. It has a blue glass liner and long handled spoon with a lovely curved handle capped with a ball. Likewise the open salt has a circular dish with matching side handle and small, circular spoon also with a curved handle with a ball or seedpod terminal. The pepper shaker is a charming circular ball also with a matching, bifurcated side-handle, and has a removable hid-domed lid pierced with a star-like motif and forms a lovely peak topped with a ball finial. Each piece retains its beautiful hand-hammered finish, and all are in excellent condition. Each piece is marked with the words Sterling, Denmark, 925 S, and with Jensen's maker's mark; mustard pot and pepper shaker are both pattern number 667, the open salt and spoon are number 110, and the mustard spoon is number 180. The mustard pot is engraved under the base, "R & A K." The mustard dish is approx. 2 3/4" high, the spoon is approx. 4" long, the pepper shaker is approx. 1 " high, the open salt is approx. 2" in diameter, and the salt spoon is approx. 2 " long. The lovely condiment set is an unusual example of Jensen's superior craftsmanship and design, and it is a fine example of this remarkable silversmith's preference for sculptural forms and naturalistic decoration. A truly unique find for any Jensen collector!
