Description: A jar of dark color buttons from moms sewing room. These are a variety of sizes and styles. They are mostly black but there are a few dark blue and green mixed in. The Jar is an old Smuckers jelly jar and says Crock Jar #8 on the bottom. It is 5 inches high and 3 inches across the bottom. My mom was born in 1911 and married in 1929. She sewed all her life and saved buttons as well as many other sewing things. She would even cut the buttons off of any old clothes she was going to use for making rugs. She would cut clothes into strips of cloth and sew the strips together and make rugs. She would save all the buttons.
