That's all there is to it! For sale, a pair of rare vintage Japanese woodblock print Christmas cards issued by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, probably circa 1970s. They measure about 5 7/8 inches wide by 8 1/4 inches long. One features an image of a peacock with green and red flowers and leaves against a gold sparkle background. The other features a Geisha lady serving tea, with a pond and water plants in the background, surrounded by a blue border. These are printed on cream color rag paper and the backs of the cards at the bottom edge have the printer's logo of a crane in flight against Mt. Fuji, and the name "Nozoe Biken Tokyo, Japan". At the interior is a separate leaf of folded paper that has the triple red diamond logo of Mitsubishi Corporation on the left. On the right interior the cards are printed "Season's Greetings and Best Wishes for a Happy New Year Mitsubishi Heavy Industries". Both have signatures of the senders, which are sort of unreadable, since they are handwritten in script. One looks like "A. Ferra" and the other looks like "M Mackenzie". These were produced by the Mitsubishi Corporation for their US representatives and employees to send to clients of their heavy industry division (refrigeration, air conditioning, etc.). The condition of these Christmas cards is good to fair: they do have some shallow creases and softness at the edges and corners, but they are fully intact and would look super framed and displayed. Not only do these have interest as vintage Christmas cards, but they are also charming, genuine woodblock prints in their own right. Buy them now!
