Description: 20th. century Japanese short sword with scabbard and hilt covered with shark skin. It is in excellent condition. The scabbard has an annular bronze decoration ending with a channeled knob for hanging. This decoration is very elaborate with patinated surface featuring leaves design. Tsuba and menuke have floral design. Tsuba is made of golden color metal with patina and light oxidation. This sword was probably made by Chinese workers for Japanese troops in the 20th. century and deaccessed from a Manchurian arsenal. Dimensions: 30 inches length. Removing the scabbard, measures 27 inches.
