Description: Very rare medieval Japanese bronze mirror dating to Kamakura period (1185-1333 CE). It features a design in high relief depicting a crane feeding its mate. The central boss is perforated and is in shape of a tortoise. Diameter: 4.2" (11 cm.). The scattered pine needles seen on the field and the cranes symbolize the long life and good luck. Estimated retail value: $2500.
