Description: Japanese Fairy Tales by Lafcadio Hearn & others & illustrated by Ruth McCrea for the Peter Pauper Press Mount Vernon, New York, 1958. This is a wonderfully illustrated hardback book with dust jacket featuring 7 stories & one illustration. They are done in woodblock style. The dust jacket shows some wear, but the book appears to be great & does have one little piece of paper off (not torn) from someone taking off the price tag on inside blank page. Just a little discoloration on top edge, I still consider this near mint. 60 pages, The fairy tales are Chin-Chin Kobakama, The Green Willow, The Goblin Spider, The Fountain of Youth, Urashima, The boy who drew Cats, Mother in the Mirror & The old woman and her dumpling. Please note: There is only one book, I took the book jacket off (left) & pictured it & the book so you could see that the book has the same design. A much more expense process to print the cover as well, But the picture makes it appear like there are 2 books, but there is not, only one !!
