Description: Japanese cloisonne rectangular tray, 9.75" long, 5.25" wide, with an odd bird and floral and stylized dragon design, and some goldstone highlights. The edge is of metallic "bamboo" form. There are oxidized stress lines in the rose, and a slight separation of the bamboo border from the enameled portion of the tray at the right side. There are also many pits and concavities in the enamel, especially around the flowers. Late 19th century.
