Description: A beautiful oil on canvas from a follower of the Rembrandt school, A Italian Trovatore with mandolin ,unsigned and framed in a fantastic quality oval heavily carved frame with detailed gilt Palmettes , classic ornament of the First French Empire , gold gilt , and more than 5 inches Depth , that I think just the frame worths the price, measures the important size of 42 inches Tall , 33 inches wide and 5 inches depth. The back side clearly indicates this is a First Empire period frame, as well as the painting from the very beginning of the 19th ( 1800 to 1810).
