Description:
A rare find-this lovely antique white pitcher with the mark of H. Burgess, Burslem (England) and the mark of a lion, crown and dragon of Staffordshire. History tells us that H. Burgess designed this ironstone china from 1790 to 1866. This hand-turned 2 quart pitcher stands 9.5 inches tall and has a total width of 9.5 inches including the handle. Simple, yet of such good quality, the right and left side of the pitcher has a knotted rope design leading up to the handle. You can tell when you pick this piece of ironstone up in your hand the feel of a good design and lasting beauty. It is in good shape, has one very tiny nick on the lip.
