Description: This is an early farm type iron weight scale called a steel yard. It's in good condition with a double range of scales, one to 10 pounds, the other to 50 lbs. The scale is 19" long overall. So depending on how the user sets the hooks up, the correct weight can be determined by balancing the adjustable weight until the scale balances. A very popular tool found on many farms in the late 1800's.
