Description: This Iron Horse ceiling hook was used in the 1800s as a decorative hook for hanging oil lamps called iron horse’s. You would find these in the middle of ceilings to light the room, before electricity. It is 7.5 inches long and 2.125 inches wide at the widest part. The screw part is 3.75 inches long. The hook part that would be seen after installation is 3.75 inches. The safety latch work great, it is free moving. This is a fairly rare piece.
