Description:
This is a handsome Irish game Table - circa 1760’s. The table measures 29 ¼”h x 35 ¾”w x 17 ¼”d. It is made of rich brown mahogany with a carved edge of ribbons and floral sprays. It has bar and bead molding around the base of the table top which is carved and applied. There is a 1” section missing at the very back of the table. The canted Marlboro legs have a few sections of carved edges knocked off. The surface is somewhat dirty and dry with a few faint old line cracks on the top. The interior game table surface shows remnants of felt or another surface covering which would need to be covered. The swing leg works just fine and there is also a secret drawer underneath. This table is in as found condition - just the way every antique dealer dreams of finding early pieces such as this one. There is no major damage to the table and there are no restorations.
