Description: An interesting high quality double-barrelled percussion shotgun by Thomas Boss of London. The gun is numbered 1342 inside the stock and on the base of the barrels there is also a number 2 (of a pair) on the central rib. It is cased in a high quality mahogany box with all original accessories. This gun is mentioned in the book, Boss & Co Makers of the Best Guns Only by D. Dallas pg 51 plate 17, 18 & 19. The gun was ordered by H. Williamson in 1854 to match an earlier gun he had purchased in 1852 which was number 1198. The two tear oak case, which was made to fit both guns, is illustrated without this gun in place. It was assumed to have been lost but has now re-appeared in its present case.
