Description: A large and impressively carved French parlor armchair, in oak, having a very tall back with barley twist pillars. This chair has exquisite detailing with floral, acanthus leaf, cherub, and urn carvings covering the entire frame. Probably the most significant feature is the fabulous needlepoint upholstery that is original to the piece, circa 1870. It has been very well maintained and aged beautifully. Sturdy and well built, with plenty of room for added comfort. 52H X 25W X 21D.
