Description:
This massive cast electroplated centrepiece has been realistically modelled in the form of an oak tree.
The three detachable arms have been realistically modelled as branches with acorn and leaf decoration.
Each branch bifurcates, the smaller branches terminating with a small cup to support the six cut glass sweetmeat dishes.
The impressive cut glass centre bowl is displayed from a central screw fit detachable support realistically modelled in the form of entwined branches.
The base of the centrepiece is naturistically formed as the forest floor with cast and chased decoration and detachable cast foliate decoration.
The woodland theme is further enhanced by the original pair of realistically modelled detachable cast electroplated stags, one standing, one lying, to either side of the trunk of the oak tree.
This magnificent centrepiece has been made to the finest quality by one of the most recognised and respected firms of electroplaters of their time, Elkington & Co.
The centrepiece is in exceptional condition.
The plate marks are very clear.
The cut glass dishes are matching and in perfect condition.
