Description: This very fine basket has an oval form with an oval plain base onto an oval colet foot. There is a bright cut engraved crest to the inner surface of the base. The body has been handcrafted in an open weave wirework fashion with thread decoration to each strand. The basket retains the original hallmarked shaped swing handle which has a complimentary thread decorated open wirework design. The lower portion of the handle is embellished with engraved feather like decoration. This basket is an extremely good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition, Full hallmarks struck to the rim of the foot, and the lion passant hallmark struck to the handle are all very clear.
