Description:
We are offering a large framed miniature portrait of a gentleman. This gentleman is sumptuously dressed and has light coloured hair.
To the rear is a silk panel and on it, impressed in wax, is a Russian crowned armorial. It has what looks similar to the Imperial Crown above a horseman holding a sword aloft.
I do not have the appropriate source material but do recollect that the the arms of the Oblensky's are similar to this.
With respect to condition. I note that the larger frame in gilt metal is not in perfect condition and there seem to be a few minor loses to the top. The glass to the front of the miniature has a few chips to the sides. The miniature, on the other hand is perfect.
The measurements provided above are the dimensions of the gilt metal outer frame.
The smaller frame holding the miniature measures 3.2 by 2.5 inches.
