Material: Forged copper flared bulbous ends
Period: Early 18th century, conservatively
Dimensions: 10.5" length, 4.25" outermost coil diameter, 1.75" knob end; weight is 5.95 pounds
Condition: Exceptional - no cracks, breaks or repairs. Exhibits signs typical of the early lost wax process, dating this coil to a much earlier period than the drawn wire specimens. Outer edges of ends were stylized during original production, deep chocolate patina, copper highlights, thickly encrusted verdigris indicative of previous burial.
