Description:
You read it right! This ice bucket will really cool you off and probably dates back to the 1950s or '60s. It's a funny and risque' takeoff of the decidedly more classical-looking Jeannette Company's Hellenic glassware, which had been styled en hommage to Wedgwood design and color. In this instance, however, someone or some company (which looks to be signed with "Bystam" or "Bystan") did a Graeco-Roman Bettie Page-pinup take on the genre by featuring semi-nude languorous dolls lounging around, brushing their hair, etc. I collect the original Jeannette pieces personally, but I had never run into this charmingly naughty variation before this. Measures 5 1/8" high x 6" across. No chips or cracks and in very fine condition. U.S. buyer pays $6.30, which covers insurance as well as shipping & handling. International buyer pays actual postage.
