Description:
A Modern Chinese Export Blue and White Huge Punch Bowl measuring 15 3/4" in Diameter and 6" in height and depth. This is a Reproduction of a 19TH. Century Blue Canton/Nanking Punch Bowl. Notice the pagoda and the person crossing the bridge. When someone is on the bridge it means that it is Nanking which was primarily made for the English Market. When there is nobody on the bridge it is Blue Canton which was primarily made for the American Market. So this bowl has the attributes of a old bowl but in this case it can be easily identified as a 20th Century Reproduction. No mark on the bottom. We purchased it a few years ago at Eldred's Auction,a well known and respected Auction House in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. This bowl makes a great presence in the dining room on a Sideboard. The old ones in either Canton or Nanking in this size would cost 10 times as much. A nice decorative bowl at a reasonable price. On our web site at this time we have a period Circa 1800 Blue and White Nanking 24" Platter that is in Perfect Condition.
