Description: 9 ¼" x 7" toned gelatin silver print ca. 1920, on original decorative mount, with De Meyer's flamboyant signature on the mount beneath the photograph. This is a classic De Meyer image and presentation. The eccentric Baron Adolph de Meyer was one of the most significant fashion photographers of the early 20th century. His work was featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and other major publications. He was a member of Alfred Steiglitz's circle. The ballet dancer Stowitz was the favorite partner of the great ballerina Anna Pavlova. The photograph and the decorative mount are in fine condition, and are very attractive. These vintage photographs in this original presentation are rare and desirable.
