Description: Offering this wonderful 1939 edition of the Household Searchlight Recipe Book (cookbook), published by the Household Magazine, 1939 - comes with an original owners name penciled in, otherwise no other writing or scribbles. Black cloth hardboards with decorative checkerboard floral decoration; raised detailed orange cameo on front of a country cottage in the woods. Orange lettering on spine. Near fine condition, no spine cracks, no stains, or fraying, no bumped corners. Pages are clean, no smudges that I could find, no scribbles or tears; orange end papers are very clean; hinges are secure; blank pages for additional recipes in back are clean, never used. This book bears the old tab indexes for each category (only slight edge rolling and toning, still very readable). This is the cleanest 1939 edition I have seen for a long time. A great old recipe book filled with hundreds of wonderful recipes!
