Ping "Hot Dog" Putter, Circa early-mid-1960's, "69" Series, lettered "Walter Winchell" on sole, green rubber grip, blade reads "Ping - 69-Pat. Pend. By Karsten, Box 1345, Scottsdale, AZ." In 1959, Karsten Solheim, an engineer at General Electric, couldn't putt and decided to do something about it, developing his own line of putters in his garage, first in Redwood, CA, then in Scottsdale. Walter Winchell loved golf as much as his friend Bob Hope and came in second in a putting contest to Hope in 1953. 35 inches
