Description: BEAUTIFUL R. J. HORNER MAHOGANY DINING SET REDUCED labeled R. J. Horner Furniture maker Beautiful R. J. Horner " turn of the Century " Mahogany fifteen piece dining set consisting of a twelve foot ~ fifty-four inch table, sideboard, china cabinet, server and eleven chairs, ( two arms and nine side chairs). Wonderful, professionally restored condition. The table has a split, decorated pedestal and ball & claw feet. The table ( without leaves ) is fifty-four inches in diameter and comes with seven twelve & one half inch fully skirted leaves ( later ) that extends the table to an impressive eleven feet ~ nine inches with all seven leaves inserted. ( all the leaves are numbered ). We say a 12' table as this allows a few inches to load & unload the leaves. The mirrored back sideboard with figual heads on the ends of the top shelf and the top corners of the base also are displayed on the china cabinet and server. The cabinet base has two drawers over one full length drawer and a center wine cellarette flanked by two storage cabinets. The Bow front and sides of the mirrored back china cabinet are impressive and it comes with four curved plate glass shelves. There is an R. J. Horner label on the back. The one drawer, two shelf and fine back splash server also has the same crest as the sideboard and figural heads along with the sets characteristic carvings and fine ball and claw feet. IN OUR NEVER ENDING SEARCH FOR FINE ANTIQUES WE WERE VERY FORTUNATE TO FIND FOUR MORE CHAIRS, ONE ARM AND THREE SIDES THAT ARE IDENTICAL IN EVERY WAY, ALL THE CARVINGS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME, AND THE SIZE IS EXACTLY THE SAME. They are truly identical chairs except these four additional chairs were crafted in oak. Still an unbelievable find and they are now wearing a mahogany finish. Yes, you can still tell they are oak, but they fit (blend in) very well. It is well documented that Horner made fine furniture in Mahogany & Oak so it is not that unusual to find the same pieces crafted in both woods. We feel the additional chairs add not only to the desirablility of the set, but also enhance the value. WE NOW HAVE THE SET LISTED WITH A REDUCED PRICE !!
