Description:
This clear and frosted souvenir drinking glass of New York, The Empire State, is marked on the bottom: H with the A inside the bottom for the Hazel Atlas Company. The Hazel-Atlas Glass Company was a large producer of machine-molded glass containers headquartered in Wheeling, West Virginia. It was founded in 1902 in Washington, Pennsylvania as the merger of four companies:Hazel Glass and Metals Company, Atlas Glass Company, Wheeling Metal Plant and Republic Glass Company. By the 1930’s, Hazel-Atlas had fifteen plants and was the largest glass manufacturer in the world. It continued to make containers and tableware until the 1950s. In 1956, Hazel-Atlas, at that time the third largest producer of glass containers in the U.S., was acquired by the Continental Can Company. With red lettering of a map of New York it shows the State Flower (Rose), the State Capitol (Albany), and all the cities, towns and counties. In very good condition, some of the red lettering is missing from age, which I have shown in my pictures and it measures 4 5/8 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches across the rim. A wonderful addition to any State or Hazel Atlas Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have any questions contact me and thank you for looking.
