Item: Vintage ca. 1950s-1960s (? pre-statehood 1959) “Aloha from Hawaii”-slogan Hawaiian Islands souvenir landmarks gold-trimmed ceramic ashtray (ash tray) with three (3) cigar-cigarette rests, manufactured by Novco Imports Souvenirs Honolulu and “Made in Japan” ***This may be pre-statehood based upon the wording being “Aloha from HAWAII” as opposed to the more typical wording on later similar pieces which instead reference “The Aloha STATE”
***Decorative transfer-transferware ornamentation depicts six (6) different Hawaiian Islands-Hawaiiana themed-motif scenes as follows:
*A Palm Trees-studded beach at sunrise/sunset entitled "Aloha from Hawaii"
*Rainbow Falls, Hawaii waterfall
*Hula Maids (Hula Girls)
*Iao Needle Maui (a natural rock pinnacle presiding over the Iao stream)
*Waimea Canyon, Kauai
*Waikiki Beach, Oahu (sailboats)
Age/Period: Vintage - ca. 1950s-1960s (although we are not 100% certain of this, we think this item may even pre-date 1959 Hawaiian Statehood, as similar items we have seen of later manufacture use the wording "The Aloha STATE" vs. the wording on ours which reads "Aloha from Hawaii")
