Description:
Har, the mysterious jewelry company that created fabulous mystical themed jewelry sets in the 1940's and 1950's. This set is no exception and a treat for the eyes. This demi parure is featured on pp. 232-233 in Marcia Sparkles Brown's book, Signed Beauties of Costume Jewelry. Known as the Happy Asian Man Set, with the full figured Asian man brooch and matching earrings. The man is wearing a full robe of beautifully detailed etched goldtone metal, adorned with green stones and aurora borealis rhinestones along his collar and sleeves. His face is beautifully carved composition plastic, so popular in the 1950's. His head is adorned with a classic Asian style hat, with the same etched and flowered design of his robe. The earrings are a mirror image of the brooch, only busts of the smiling face and collar. The collar is a silvertoned and goldtoned etched metal adorned with the green stones and aurora borealis rhinestones. The brooch and one earring are signed Har, with normal wear to the back of the earrings. This set is nothing short of fabulous and a must for any collector.
