Description: Nice early hand painted Nippon butter tub with floral border, square handles and insert. The insert was to keep the ice separated from the butter while keeping it cool. It has the blue "rising sun" mark used since 1911. Condition is near mint, with no chips, cracks or crazing. There is slight wear to the gilding.
