Description: HAMPDEN KEY WIND POCKET WATCH HALF HUNTER SILVER OPEN FACE CASE Circa: 1879. Featured is the silver “Half Hunter” key wind case; meaning that the back springs up when the crown button is depressed (similar to the top lid on any hunting case pocket watch). This is an early Hampden key wind model. This scarce case is original to the movement and the dial is mint. Especially collectible. Clean, running, and accurate. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.

DIAL: White porcelain single sunken with Roman figures signed “HAMPDEN WATCH Co.”. Nice.

MOVEMENT: 18 size, full plate gilt, key wind and key set, signed” Hampden Watch Co., Springfield, Mass.” Original to the case. Factory nickel flashing worn away on spots to create a two-tone effect.

CASE: “BK&Co./COIN” 4oz. coin silver, double hinged back and bezel with the back spring lift upon depression of the button (“Half Hunter”). Excellent condition and original to the dial and movement.
