HAMPDEN 23j SPECIAL RAILWAY TWO-TONE OPEN FACE Circa: 1893. Most desirable of this series is the open face version. This example of this exceptionally beautiful two-tone is very bright color contrast. This watch has not been subjected to fading due to cleaning materials, etc. over the last 120 years. This watch Survives with no fading and is therefore, especially desirable. The original case adds to value. This watch is clean, running and accurate. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.
DIAL: Double sunken white porcelain with fancy Arabic figures and marekd: "Hampden Watch Co." in fine script. Mint original dial unique to this model.
MOVEMENT: 18 size, open face, full plate nicke and gilt pattern on the plates. Lever set, yellow and nickel bright color contrast. "23 Jewels Special Railway", all 14k capped screw down jewel settings, "ADJUSTED", #1,770,072.
CASE: Original mint plain polished yellow gold filled case. Mint original case.
