Description:
The name Hamilton was synonymous with modern design. Of
course Hamilton was best known for their wedge shaped "Pacer"
which was the first electric watch in the world. The "Thor"
however was a fine mechanical watch that had all of the great
design features that Hamilton became known for and none of
the problems with the early electrics. The "Thor" was first
marketed in 1959, a year after the "Pacer" changed the world of
watch manufacturing. The "Thor" perpetuated the modern
design tradition while satisfying those who were not ready to
take a chance on electric technology. In fact, 2 years later, due
to such concerns, Hamilton released the "Pacermatic" - an
automatic, mechanical version of the original "Pacer". This
fantastic "Thor" is in a white, gold filled case that measures
38mm from lug to lug by 30mm wide. The movement is an
exceptional 22 jewel - one more than even the 21 jewel model
because they added a cap jewel for the top jewel of the fork
pivot. This is just another example of Hamilton's effort to be the
best. This watch was a definitive example of the era by being
ahead of its time (no pun intended)! If you would like to own a
real piece of history... you can't beat the "Thor". Our master
watchmakers have it running strong, winding and setting
smoothly, and keeping time like the day it was made! This is the
watch you had to have on your arm while it was hanging out the
window of your Corvette "Stingray"! Those were the days my
friend! You can re-live them even if you don't have the vintage
Corvette. Our famous one year warranty ensures that your
experience will be hassle free.
