Description:
The pattern of this Haldon Group mug is called Ribbon & Bow. It has a white basket weave pattern with strawberries, green leaves and pink flowers interwoven with a blue ribbon and bow. Notice the pink flower bud on the brown handle. the inside of the mug is a pale pink color. Haldon Group pieces are so uniquely made that you can often identify them without looking at the mark. They have the look of a majolica style and is often described as "Japanese Majolica". I wish I knew more about this company that went out of business in the 1990s because they certainly made some beautiful pottery. The mug is in good shape with some crazing on the outside. The hand coloring of the pieces is casual and shadings verify from piece to piece. The bottom has the words the Haldon Group & trademark - 1985. I only have this one mug left but have a number of additional unique pieces of this great pattern that I will be listing soon. Please check my inventory and save on shipping.
