Description:
This is a Blue Cornish Ware or cornishware mug made by T. G. Green, England and redesigned by Judith Onions 1968-1972. The shape of the ceramic mug was changed by J Onions from the old to new and has a target or bullseye backstamp with her signature. The mug measures 3.85 inches high by 3.5 in diameter. The mugs are made from 2 layers of clay...a white layer covered with a blue layer. The mug then goes to a lathe and the blue layer is cut away into stripes, then glazed and fired. The mug is in very good ++ condition with some handle edge wear or tiny chips which is evident on many TG Green items from this period.
