Description:
This is a fantastic pair of sterling silver candlesticks by the premier American silversmiths at the Gorham Manufacturing Company in a timeless neoclassical design. Each columnar candlestick stands on a stepped square base trimmed with a beaded border. The fluted Corinthian column has a sculptural leafy capital supporting a square top with chamfered corners and with a conforming removable wax-pan with a beaded border. The tall column form candlesticks would make a handsome addition to any decor. These candlesticks are in excellent condition with only minor wear as typical and are exceptional quality and gauge. Each measures approx. 10 1/4" high with bases approx. 4 1/4" square. Each is marked under the base with the maker's mark of Gorham Manufacturing Co., the words Sterling, pattern number A3207, the date symbol for 1913, and the retailer's mark of Howard & Co. This handsome pair of antique silver candlesticks would make an excellent gift--they make a classic design statement!
