Description: This is a nice jewelry or vanity box with raised embossed figural roses all over. Beautiful air brushed colors in robin's egg blue, pink and yellow with 24k gold trim and autumn brown colored leaves up the four sides. Has four feet which are painted in the 24k gold and ornate handle on top. It's made of that interresting old light weight pottery of that era and feels quite delicate. Bottom still has blue and white oval Made in Japan label intact. Inside rim has a small nibbling of a fleck but cannot be seen when lid is on as well as one small pin head glaze flake on one of the pink roses. Measures 5" tall, 7" long and 4.5" deep. Such a pretty ornate powder, trinket or dresser box to enhance any romantic vintage Nouveau or Shabby Chic Vanity decor!! Circa 1940's - 1950's.
