Description: Exceptional Biscuit barrel with solid silver top, rim and handle. Finial features a knob of ebony with sterling mounts. Beautiful cut glass design. Very rare to find one with the silver pieces still intact, especially since most tops were of silver plate. The clear hallmarks date it to Sheffield, 1921. Originally used to serve English biscuits during afternoon tea. These elegant containers can hold everything from Christmas ornaments to match book collections although colorful candy is always appreciated!
