Description:
Beautiful vintage glass shade for your kitchen ceiling fixture or fan. Commonly thought to be made by Consolidated. It was actually made by the Kopp Glass Co. of Swissvale, PA. Nicholas Kopp worked for Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co. for a time, but this shade was produced at his own company. The flower basket design was patented on Aug. 26, 1919; it is the Design patent number D-53,742. According to the text of the patent, Kopp retained ownership of the design and did not assign it to a particular glass company. The 4 inch fitter size is the No. 909 shade, advertised in the Dec. 26, 1927, issue of China, Glass and Lamps. It was also made in a bowl shape, without the white top section.
Flower basket molded in glass and lightly painted.
Circa 1910
Measures 11 inch diameter, 8-1/2 inches tall. Fits 4 inch fixture.
Very Good condition. No chips, dings, cracks, scratches or repairs.
