GINO CENEDESE Italian Art Glass EAMES ERA BIRD FIGURINE Album Album Album Album Album GINO CENEDESE Italian Art Glass EAMES ERA BIRD FIGURINE ITEM DESCRIPTION This is an exceptional little piece of art glass -- it's a small bird figurine with a strong Eames era modernist look. It has a flat bottom so it stands upright. It is signed on the base "Gino" this is a known signature of Gino Cenedese. The Gino Cenedese and Son glassworks was founded in 1946 and over the past 60 years has created unique Venetian glass objects. Cenedese glasswork is highly sought after by collectors worldwide. Eames era modernist works by Cenedese, especially his bird figurines, are fetching particularly high prices recently. Age (ca.) c1950s Dimensions It measures 3-1/2" X 2-1/2" . Condition Good condition with no cracks. The edge of the base is a little rough -- no chips, just some roughness (see photos of base). Provenance This wonderful item comes to us from one of the greatest estate sales we've ever been to. It was the home of a 91 year old woman and her 70 year old daughter -- both were inveterate collectors ... bordering on the obsessive! The home was packed with treasures. Each room had more than the last; each place we turned had another amazing thing but when we got to the basement, we had gone to "dish heaven". Well over a thousand dishes were piled on dozens of shelf units. Hundreds of pieces of Blue Ridge, English transferware, Mexican pottery, French faience and more were neatly boxed up, just begging to be used. We spent days sorting through it all and are happy to present you with the fantastic finds from this great estate. Please scroll down for more photos and any of them.
