Description:
Included here is a 40 piece collection of engraved and gilded, blown stemware in the Minton pattern made by Tiffin. It was purchased by our client at an auction conducted by C.B. Charles around 1975 in Westchester County NY on behalf of the Delano family. Unfortunately, given the time which has elapsed since this purchase, we have records from the sale and no further details on provenance. Set dates from the 1930s. Pattern is similar to the Rambler Rose pattern. Included are the following:
(11) Dessert Plates (6.25" diameter)
(5) Cordial Glasses (3" diameter, 4" height) [two not shown]
(6) Champagne Glasses (3.75 diameter, 3.5" height)
(6) Ale Glasses (2.25" diameter, 5.5" height)
(8) Toasting Glasses (2.5" diameter, 6.25" height)
(4) Wine Glasses (3.5" diameter, 7" height)
Overall condition is good. Virtually all pieces show some degree of wear and loss to the gilding, from very light to moderate. Only the wine glasses have chips which can be seen in one of our images.
