Description:
"The Storyteller" Pastel by Irene Wordhouse is one she has hanging in her home and as many fine artists will find at times wanting to keep a few of those that are special to them. This is one pastel that Irene will never sell. She has decided to make a limited amount of Giclee Prints for sell to the public. The description of Irene's Pastel in her own words: This painting started out as a way of comforting myself when my father passed away. As I worked on it (the objects are all mine), the painting took on a deeper significance. the lamb reading to the toys became a symbol of Christ, the Lamb of God, who left His throne in Heaven out of love for His creatures, and to give his life for them. Some of the other symbols representing Christ are the lion, the ram, the light, and the color red. Throughout time there continue to be listeners to the greatest story ever told. Only He is worthy to open "the scroll." (Revelations 5) The prints come unframed and are mounted on acid-free foam core backing under acid-free white matting. Print Size: 19" x 25", which is the same size of the original pastel which can be seen in the last picture behind Irene. Each Giclee Print is numbered with a limited edition of these being produced. About Giclee Printing and What it Means to You: Professionally produced inkjet prints done in the Giclee fashion are much more expensive on a “per print” basis than the traditional four color offset lithography process originally used to make such works. The word “giclée,” as a fine art term, has come to be associated with prints using fade-resistant "archival" inks (including solvent inks) and the inkjet printers that use them. These printers use the CMYK color process but may have multiple cartridges for variations of each color based on the CcMmYK color model (e.g. light magenta and light cyan inks in addition to regular magenta and cyan); this increases the apparent resolution and color gamut and allows smoother gradient transitions. What does this mean to you? You receive a print that is more realistic and more closely matches the original pastel then could have been imagined. The print looks almost identical to the pastel that Irene has hanging in her home. Extremely high quality with fine detailing that no other print method can match.
