Description:
This rare stein belongs to the family of regimental or reservist steins - it was made and presented to commemorate the military service. It was made around 1935 - 1940 just before WWII. The stein was made by Marzi and Remy and bears the manufacturer's mark from the period and model number 2962. The stein is featured in Gary Kirsner's book "German Military Steins". This stein is a part of the series of military steins produced by Marzi and Remy for different military branches - Infantry, motorized infantry, Navy, Luftwaffe, artillery, etc. This one represents Luftwaffe or airforce. The Luftwaffe stein is the rarest of the whole series. In front of the stein there is a releif picture of military planes marked with crosses and swastikas. The inscription reads: "Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit" - "In memory of my service". The side pictures show different scenes from the airforce support units - the fueling team and light anti-aircraft artillery (Flak). The stein is in excellent flawless condition. I guarantee the authencity and dating. It is 6" tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity.
