Description:
This half-liter ivory colored stoneware stein shows a gentleman holding a beer stein and flirting with a lady. The style of their clothes is from an earlier time known as the Biedermeier period (1815 - 1848) but the stein was manufactured around 1900-1910 when there was a revival of interest in Germany to the Biedermeier style. This interest integrated into the new design style - Jugendstil. The stein also shows some very distinctive signs of Art Nouveau/Jugendstil style of decorations. Inscripted on the stein is: " Des Lebens Sonnenschein ist trinken u. froelich sein" - "Life's sunshine is drinking and being happy". The stein is in excellent flawless condition. 6"tall, 0.5L capacity.
